Kicking Against the Pricks
By Milo | May 17, 2010
Fighting for causes you believe in is undoubtedly a good thing, especially when it’s the underdog you’re fighting for. In fact a lot of what I try to do on this blog is fighting for the underdog, whether its underrated musicians or putting an alternative view across that’s being ignored by the mainstream. Here’s 3 ways you can stick it to the man right now and help what I think are important causes in the process:
Petition for the Repeal of the Digital Economy Act
I’ve signed pretty much any petition going both before and after this act to try and get it stopped. It was rushed through Parliament just before the election despite masses of protests – and shockingly most MPs didn’t even bother turning up to the debate. If you want the web to stay a place where there is freedom and opportunity for creative people, sign it now.
Save BBC6 Music
The BBC’s consultation finishes on the 25th May. Just in case you forgot, if you enjoy the station at all, please let the BBC know how you feel. And if you’ve not checked it out, please give it a try – you really are missing out on the best radio station ever and it would be sad to see it go.

Save the Pop Cop
Scottish blogger the Pop Cop has had his blog taken down illegitimately by Google. I hate to see a fellow blogger being screwed over by an uncaring corporation so I’ve emailed them to protest and so have a bunch of fellow BAMS (Scottish Blogs and Music Sites), and obviously he’d be grateful if you did the same. BBC News have even been in contact with him and Franz Ferdinand have been tweeting on his behalf so maybe just maybe the big G will listen this time..
